NEW! Gluten-Free Hot Dog Buns Recipe

Hi Reader!

We all knew this email was coming after I sent the gluten-free burger buns recipe last week. The number one question I got was... what about hot dog buns?! So I have good news... it's the same dough! We just need to measure it out differently and shape it differently. As a Chicago girl, I love a poppy seed bun with my Chicago-style hot dogs, so I topped my buns with poppy seeds, but you can leave them plain or even do an everything bagel topping. Whatever you want.

I love to make a double batch of this dough and do half hamburger buns, half hot dog buns and then keep them in the freezer for summer grilling all season long. Just make sure you slice them before freezing so they thaw quicker and easier.

The one shaping tip I really want you to remember: place your buns close together on the baking sheet in two groups of four before proofing. I skipped this in my first test and ended up with sad, flat buns. When they are close together they push up against each other as they rise and bake, which gives you that perfect hot dog bun shape.

For the psyllium husk, I use Anthony’s Whole Psyllium Husk (affiliate link). I prefer using whole psyllium husk, not the powder. But if you want to use powder, still hydrate it in the water to create a gel and use 13g instead of 16g.

I hope you love these as much as we do. They are going to be on repeat in our house all summer long.

Hi Reader! Our A/C went out again this week, so I've been doing everything I can to avoid turning on the oven. That means a lot of no-cook sides and cold drinks... but some things are worth sweating for. Like my blueberry crumble focaccia. I made a big batch of my hot dog buns at the beginning of the month and I'm really glad I did, because now we can just pull them out of the freezer and grill out this weekend without thinking about it. Here's what's on my menu. Gluten-Free Blueberry Crumble...

Hi there! We have a long weekend coming up here and I have a lot of recipes to share. Whether you're hosting, heading to someone else's place, or just using the extra time to cook something good, here's everything I've been making lately. Gluten-Free Hamburger Buns Most store-bought gluten-free buns crumble the second you pick them up or taste like cardboard. These don't. They're soft enough to bite through but sturdy enough to hold together under a burger with all the toppings. Get Recipe...

Hi Reader! Prime Day ends tomorrow and I've been going through my kitchen to pull together the tools I actually use every single day. These are not random picks. Every single one of these lives in my kitchen and shows up in my recipes. I figured if I'm going to shop Prime Day anyway, I might as well share what I'm grabbing and what I already swear by.
